Taking the stage to tell the story of his life as only he can is the platinum-selling soul singer Lyfe Jennings. In a performance that felt long overdue to his many loyal fans that decided to kick start their Winter this November at the House of Blues Dallas. With a venue that has dawned the top performances in entertainment, there is no question as to why this hot spot more commonly known as the HOB would be the backdrop to such a soothing night of rhythm and soul. With a music hall that holds well over 600 people, this unique concert venue has comfortable balcony seating, spacious standing room, a well-stocked bar, and a budget-friendly menu offering a space of pure ambiance which proved to be the perfect setting for this R&B/Soul fueled occasion.

Starting the night with a few gifted opening acts such as Dallas' own Murphy León, Stephen Cue, and JuanCarloWhit (on guitar) which proved to be a crowd-pleaser plus an audience-based sing-off, though there was a slight delay due to flight complications this dynamic trio was a nice warm-up before Lyfe took to the stage to set it on fire! Once on-stage Lyfe would lead with a soft rendition of "My Life", an up-tempo track that ushers in a refreshing vibe that feels like your best childhood memory. Lyfe would go on to showcase the flare of a pioneer with fans engulfed in every word as he took a moment to engage the crowd by saying "I don't hear nobody singin this man, I done been on a plane since 6'o clock this morning" just before having the DJ drop the song in full form taking the show to new heights and this was just the beginning.

Next, he hit the crowd with a few classics such as S.E.X., Let's Stay Together, and even a rendition of Al Greens Let's Stay together which was an awesome bridge to not only take the crowd back to the past but also a perfect opportunity for Lyfe to flex his versatility in case we had forgotten. This was all done alongside Lyfe telling personal stories, speaking to the crowd, and breaking out into impromptu songs geared especially towards his aw-struck lady fans that by this time had all but melted in place.

The night would end with Lyfe performing songs like "Neverland", and perhaps his most popular song "Must Be Nice" along with a few other well-known hits. If we had to describe the night as a whole it felt like watching your favorite artist for the first time and them showing up as promised or like the concert that we always needed. Lyfe is currently on a multi-city tour and if you have the chance to catch him live we strongly suggest that you do.
