UNDER RAPS MAGAZINE | WHERE THE UNDERGROUND MEETS MAINSTREAM

Give me your perspective on what a producer should bring to the table as far as production and give me your opinion on what the producer and artist relationship should be?

Should the producer work with only top artist or is it the producer's job to make it hot? Also, there's a lot of artists and some just don't have what it takes.

What would you do with that type of artist if they request production and have money but maybe the skill set isn't right?

What a producer should bring to the table is their own sound, which will help an artist better their lyrics if they're not already there. The artist and producer should have a family coded relationship just so the chemistry will flow together. Good chemistry equals a classic song in the making. It's the producer's job to uplift ANY artist who's serious about there craft. If an artist doesn't have all the pieces together I consult them and show them the blueprint of what they need to do to advance.
